Hope Community Methodist Church came into being in November 2021 as the church families at Barnbygate Methodist Church and Hawtonville Methodist Church officially merged to form a new church family. This was accompanied by a vision to sell both buildings and find alternative premises that are more suitable for their mission. Hawtonville was sold in 2022, and the Barnby Gate sale went through in May 2026.

Sunday services are currently taking place at the Newark Services Club, across the car park behind the Odeon cinema, taking the opportunity on the first Sunday in the month to visit another church in the Circuit.  Get the latest news from the Hope Community Methodist Church Facebook page:
