Hope Community Methodist Church is the newest church in Newark. It came into being in November 2021 as the church families at Barnbygate Methodist Church and Hawtonville Methodist Church officially merged to form a new church family. This was accompanied by a vision to sell both buildings and find alternative premises that are more suitable for their mission. Hawtonville was sold in 2022, and the Barnby Gate sale process is progressing rapidly,
