I grew up in Newark and came to know the Lord while a student at Durham University. I was then based in Durham for nearly 30 years (8 of them overseas) before moving back to the Newark area in 2012 to be close to my family again. I have worked in scientific research, church-based international student ministry, university teaching in East Asia, ESOL teaching in a prison, administration for the Church
Hello, my name is Duncan, and I am the new Lay Pastor serving Collingham and Long Bennington. While I was born and raised near Bristol, I have lived all over the UK from Northumberland to Somerset. Prior to moving to Newark, my wife Rosalind and I were living, and serving the United Methodist Church, in Romania. While I was brought up in the Anglican Church, I came to a personal faith supported by
I am married to Duncan and have recently moved to the Newark area from Romania, where I have spent the past six years. I was disabled for many years due to ME/CFS, but have worked as a childminder, care worker and private tutor. I have also been active in both churches and the wider community as a volunteer. I have three daughters and one granddaughter, and I also enjoy reading, word puzzles, gardening
I have been in post for 3 years working a day a week. I also work for Age UK Notts supporting people to help maintain their independence. I am married to Sue and we have 2 daughters Jenny and Katherine who both live and work in London. I worship at Collingham and also love to ride my bike.
Being retired I have the luxury of spending lots of time outside and the dog really appreciates this. Indoors it's a case of cryptic crosswords and reading, but definitely not cleaning! Match of the Day is a must and the challenge is to get to 10.30pm without hearing the scores.
I am married to Jean and we have one child and 4 grandchildren. Before retirement I taught horticulture and countryside management at Nottingham Trent University. I am an East Midlands in Bloom judge and enjoy exploring the Yorkshire Dales.
My wife Kate and I moved to Newark in 2022 so we are fairly new to the circuit. We had previously been in Wiltshire for just under 40 years where we both did our local preacher training. I was a chartered accountant in practice for many years and retired about 7 years ago. We have a son in Lincoln and our daughter lives in Canada with her husband and two children.
I have been a member of the Methodist Church since the age of 15; hence I feel the church is an important part of my family. I previously worked as a PA eventually taking on a role in hospitality and events management. I am a sister, aunty and great aunty to a very loving and supportive family.
