After a flurry of activity before the summer with three pop-up Cafe events and a presence at the summer fayre, it may seem like things have gone quiet around the Cafe Hub. Not so! Proposals to have a café, hub and small retail space in the village continues to progress.
The steering group have had two further meetings and with a lot of spade work going on behind the scenes, we also expect the Chapel ‘For Sale’ signs to go up soon. Watch this space as we intend to put in a monthly article with news and opportunities to keep you up to speed with progress! We hope to have more Pop-Up Cafes to keep momentum going and start to build the Cafe Hub community – do look out for these and come and join us – volunteer if you can!
The project Steering Group also now feel it is time to take some next steps – having a name for the project and having a logo reflecting our hopes. We’re proposing a working name of ‘North Muskham Café Hub’ and we’re hoping people in the village will design that logo.
Anyone can send us their design – young, or older; professional designer or have-a-go enthusiast; long-standing village resident, or someone new to the area. Our hope is that we’ll be sent a variety of logos and we’ll then shortlist the top few, before asking people which one they like best. The closing date for entries is 30 Sept 2026.
The logo needs to print in colour and b&w, small and large, using no more than 4 colours. Please use an easily readable font; and only use royalty free graphics. Include the words: ‘Café Hub’, perhaps ‘N Muskham’ in your design. Avoid: too many details, trendy designs that date quickly, overly corporate imagery.
Designs to be in electronic format – preferably PNG – and recognise the Café Hub is about belonging, connecting and flourishing, people coming together, community ownership and creating something for the future. The logo should embrace this. A simple design that has longevity. One that can be used on signage, coffee cups, a website, social media, volunteer clothing, and documents would be perfect.
There’s no age limit, upper or lower to the competition and you could even choose to collaboration intergenerational!
Entries can be submitted by email to nigel@pimlott.org.
