This week's TOGETHER has a front page article written by Jeff Proctor, one of the newest members of our Sutton On Trent Methodist Church family. He has written a message about gifts and giving at Christmas.
The main article looks into the story of Abigail, a lesser know heroine from 1 Samuel in the Old Testament. Abigail's story gives us a challenge for how we receive the baby King and how we prepare during advent. This is accompanied by songs and prayers which make up our online worship, available from our YouTube Channel from 10:30am on Sunday or available to watch back at any point. Why not share the link with a friend and agree to watch together and discuss what Good is saying afterwards (potential discussion questions are also included in the newsletter). You could equally do this separately and chat over the phone! (Don't forget that the weekly message is always available via our dial-a-sermon on 01636 552255.
You will also find details of all of our December and Christmas in-person services across the circuit. Can I please encourage those of you who are able to attend in-person worship to wear a mask to worship for the foreseeable future. With the uncertainty of Omicron (the newest COVID variant), though it is not compulsory in places of worship it is much safer to gather wearing masks to protect each other and our ability to continue to gather. If you are unable to wear a mask for whatever reason then please know that you will still receive a warm welcome – don't let that deter you from coming and gathering!
