Duncan Smith – Local Lay Pastor

duncan smith local lay preacher

Hello, my name is Duncan, and I am the new Lay Pastor serving Collingham and Long Bennington. While I was born and raised near Bristol, I have lived all over the UK from Northumberland to Somerset. Prior to moving to Newark, my wife Rosalind and I were living, and serving the United Methodist Church, in Romania. While I was brought up in the Anglican Church, I came to a personal faith supported by a local Methodist church in Winterbourne Down, and became a member of the Glastonbury Methodist congregation in 1997. Just prior to that, Rosalind and I had taken our three daughters (Elinor, Fiona and Brigit) to Berwick upon Tweed where we attended an Evangelical bible college. While in Glastonbury, I worked in the oil industry, in tour guiding and as a science teacher. I also trained as a local preacher and served as a local preaching tutor and steward. I am now looking forward to exploring Nottinghamshire while sharing my faith journey and encouraging the congregations of Collingham and Long Bennington.
