I grew up in Newark and came to know the Lord while a student at Durham University. I was then based in Durham for nearly 30 years (8 of them overseas) before moving back to the Newark area in 2012 to be close to my family again. I have worked in scientific research, church-based international student ministry, university teaching in East Asia, ESOL teaching in a prison, administration for the Church of England, and pastoral care of missionaries. I have also experienced illness and unemployment, but found God faithful. I love reading and watching birds, but it gives me greatest joy to help people to connect with Jesus and encourage them in their walk with Him. So I'm delighted to have this opportunity to serve as a Local Lay Pastor for Charles Street, Hope Community and North End.
